The Tiger I tank was a formidable German heavy tank developed during World War II. The Tiger 131 variant was produced in 1942 and featured a distinctive, heavily armored hull with a sloping front glacis plate. It was armed with an 88mm KwK 36 main gun and had a crew of five members. The Tiger 131 tank gained particular significance due to its capture during the Battle of Tunis in 1943. It was the first intact Tiger I to be examined and evaluated by the British forces, providing valuable insights into the design and capabilities of the Tiger tank for Allied intelligence. After being captured, Tiger 131 was transported to England for testing and evaluation. Eventually, it was put on display at The Tank Museum in Bovington, where it remains one of the museum's most prominent exhibits. Visitors can see the tank up close and learn about its history and significance.
